INCUBATION OFFICES
Studio Evans Lane successfully secured a detailed planning consent for this new incubation hub at Betteshanger Business Park.
The new building will host start-up business and SMEs with manufacturing and production space at ground floor level and office spaces on the first and second floors.
Through the provision of affordable work space and communal support services the incubation space provides opportunities for those coming directly from education or elsewhere in the wider community to start up new businesses.
The building is designed to meet Passivhaus standards thus minimising running costs. The East-West orientation, narrow floor plate and highly insulated building provides flexible and adaptable space for individual workspaces through to burgeoning companies with up to 10 staff thereby accommodating 40 to 50 businesses at any one time. Future links with surrounding buildings on the business park will enhance the cross-pollination of ideas, new housing, also designed by Studio Evans Lane as part of the wider masterplan will encourage a local live work ethos.
