CANTERBURY CASTLE KEEP
Canterbury Castle Keep, a grade I Listed Building and Scheduled Monument, is in a poor state of repair and currently inaccessible to the public. The council wants to reopen the monument to visitors, so a means of accessing and interpreting the remaining structure was sought.
Our solution is twofold; to provide a lightweight raised walkway traversing the central space between the diagonally opposed existing openings - ensuring a minimal intervention with below-ground remains, and inserting stainless steel-lined reflecting pools to reflect the interior walls and provide enhanced and reflected views of the remaining structure.
