THE BELLOWS CONTAINER
A flexible Pop-Up venue that can host a variety of functions in a variety of locations.
The simple 40’ container with internal dimensions measuring 12m x 2.35m x 2.385m was not in itself large enough to meet the requirements of the various functions in particular the performance of an Opera Ballet company to a minimum of 20 audience members.
Our design appropriates the simple bellows as utilised on cameras, accordions and at a larger scale for airbridge connections. This has enabled us to create a transportable, scaleable and flexible performance venue. The first use of the facility will be to tell a social history story through a specially commissioned immersive collaboration of music, dance, design and film. Combining live performance with pre-recorded Audio and visual material will create a stimulating immersive sensory experience.
Following a national tour, further uses for the venue are anticipated including:
A degustation dining experience of locally foraged foods; a micro-cinema; fashion and trade shows, product launches and an art gallery installation. A fully functioning protype has been completed and full production is due to commence this year.
